Helpful Information

  • You must be over the age of 12 to raft the Ocoee River
  • You will get wet
  • The Middle section of the Ocoee is 5 miles of rafting and you will be with us for approximately 3 hours
  • The Combo trip (Upper and Middle sections) is 10 miles of rafting and you will be with us for approximately 5.5 hours with a energy refuel break in between the two sections
  • The Ocoee River is dam controlled but Mother Nature can impact our flow of water
  • We will raft rain or shine
  • No experience is needed

What to bring

  • A towel and change of clothes for after your rafting trip. Please leave towels, bags, water bottles, and sunscreen in the car
  • Any medication you may need while on the river (epi-pen, inhaler, insulin, etc)
  • Sunglasses can be worn on the river but we recommend a strap so you don't lose them in the rapids
  • Most hats fit under the helmets and can be work on the river
  • High Country will provide the PFD (Personal Flotation Device), helmet and paddle

What to wear

  • Summer
    • Clothes you don't mind getting wet; bathing suit, shorts
    •  Shoes that can be secured to your feet; old sneakers, water shoes, sandals (flip flops are not recommended)
    • Dry clothes to change into after the trip
  • Winter
    • Cotton is not your friend when the temperature is cooler. Synthetic fabrics will keep you warmer even when they are wet. We recommend wool, fleece, polypropylene.
    • Shoes that can be secured to your feet; old sneakers, water shoes, sandals (flip flops are not recommended)
    • Dry, warm clothes to change into after the trip
